1 Timothy chapter 3 defines what a bishop is to be. That is in the King James Bible. Married able to teach. Good manners.
The ministry of Christ was started on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2)as some preachers write. All of the apostles were Jews. Even Apostle Paul was a Jew but I believe he was a Roman citizen as in those days the Roman Empire ruled a large territory or provinces and even Juda/Jerusalem. Of course arianism was not true/error. But the Old Testament and the Hebrew Bible, Torah already existed. Given to us by Jewish Prophets by God. Funny to think of it but the lord Jesus Christ said there is no greater Prophet than John the Baptist. And John the Baptist lived in the wilderness and ate wild honey. The New Testament was already written in the 1st century but not assembled in the Bible as of yet till later. We have the Dead Sea Scrolls to now.
"Now John himself wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a. leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey."
What is the authority of Scripture in the Bible?
In Christianity, the term biblical authority refers to two complementary ideas: the extent to which one can regard the commandments and doctrines within the Old and New Testament scriptures as authoritative over humans' belief and conduct.
Matthew 28:18
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” never in scripture does it say he / GOD gave his authority to others but the Apostles and Christians are given certain authorities. (Different gifts such as tongues, teaching, prophecy, perhaps healing, etc but the greatest gift is the Holy Ghost). Preachers are to evangelize the word of God and are of course given certain gifts and authorities as well.
Bible Verses About Authority
Matthew 28:18 - And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Romans 13:1 - Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Acts 5:29 - Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
2 John 1:9 - Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
Hebrews 13:17 - Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
Christ gives Believers Authority in Luke 10:19
Luke 10:19 - Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
1 Timothy 5:17 - Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
1 Peter 2:18-20 - Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
1 Timothy 5:17 - Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
Philippians 2:10-11 - That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (Read More...)
1 Samuel 15:22 - And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
2 Corinthians 2:9 - For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.
2 Thessalonians 3:14 - And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
1 Thessalonians 4:8 - He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
The Authority is the Holy Spirit. The Authority is the Living God.
I find 1 Timothy 5:17 particularly very interesting
1 Timothy 5:17 - Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
Revelation 21:2
“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”
King James Version (KJV)
After God remakes the heavens and the earth, the Bible speaks of a city called the "new Jerusalem" coming down out of heaven. It will be an actual material city with spiritual significance. Some teach that this will be on the new heavens and earth. Others believe this will be on the old Earth.
Should Christians Fellowship?
The Bible tells us to meet together as believers and to encourage one another. The number one reason to encourage Christians to find a good church is because the Bible instructs us to be in relationship with other believers. If we are part of Christ's body, we will recognize our need to fit into the body of believers. May 9, 2019
Andrew Farley on Church fathers.
"Some put a great deal of confidence in the so-called “church fathers” who arrived on the scene hundreds of years after Christ.
While some of them contributed significantly to the Christian faith, many disagreed with each other and from them many errors were birthed.
So what is a healthy perspective on the so-called “church fathers”? And what about their apparent failure to believe in the eternal security of the Christian?"
The Church Fathers? - call no man on earth father. I am not totally sure I agree 100% with everything Andrew says but he is informed.

We can get into the reformation and all of that although the word of God when it is rightly divided and prophecy understood which takes its own authority it's quite obvious that the word of GOD is authoritative and a two edge sword. Now I think it is important to mention and not leave out John Knox, William Tidal and other people who translated the scriptures and were persecuted. Also it's important to mention that our canonized Bible has 66 books and there is a faith that has seven non canonized books in their so-called Bible.
Apostle Paul preached about if anybody comes preaching another gospel and yes they do that. Galatians 1:8-9 People need to be aware of the different Bible versions. The Bible says You must be born again. John 3.3 The real way is a straight gate to salvation and HELL is real. Many are deceived!! Preach Christ crucified and let them know preachers WHOM the real RISEN lord Jesus Christ - Emmanuel really is:
Jesus said repent or perish.

The gospels were not written till later still, probably in the 70s-90s AD. Until then, the stories about Jesus and his sayings must have circulated orally. A generation or two of Christians thus managed without a written record of Jesus. In 'New Testament times', there was no New Testament. Feb. 3, 2020
The Bible tells us about all the people being saved on the day of Pentecost and how many people were saved there after daily. Really first century Christians that knew the Messiah when listening to his sermons and his speeches were listening to the word of God by The Source himself. Same thing with the Pharisees and the scribes and Sadducees and many others. So Christianity was Jewish. We can talk about the Jewish faith that despised and rejected their own Messiah. We can talk about Judaism and people try to say that Babylonian captivity, exile polluted it. But the Jewish biblical true Messiah was the unblemished Lamb of God and He Is Risen and he is God because he said himself he and the father are one. Praise the Lord.
