Thou shalt make thy way prosperous

Joshua 1:8

8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

You know I was looking at certain bands like the Little River band which has a peculiar name and a song that is warm and it's called reminiscing. Remember reminiscing is talking about those things which are those times that were special and or memorable probably. You know for example when you're young perhaps or when you went to some dance hall or club and you met somebody or when you went on some vacation and you had such a great time and sometimes you might be reminiscing sitting by a photo album book. And in conjunction with this I was looking at this band and the various members they had throughout their career and the people that left the band because of the divisions after being known that people wanted to go or had a different vision and couldn't remain in the band. There's one particular guy I saw in an interview and I wondered what happened with that band. You know people talk about successes and the way God defines success as the way men define success might not be totally the same. So of course you would have those Christians that would condemn someone relating in this way because you have to let go of the world. But I am giving you an example and using the Arts to give you an example. And the same thing happened with The Beatles of course but in a much more Broad way. You know Jesus said inn retrospect that a man has to be humble before God. God's word says "He" highly esteem a contrite man or woman. A God fearing woman is to be praised. A woman who doesn't fear God does not know God. Jesus told Apostle Peter follow me and he did but he was scared.

Now in real life celebrities or actors are rewarded with oscars, platinum albums and gold albums, etc; all of the above. All the paraphernalia and so on. Paparazzi Chase's them down to get their photos that end up in many numerous magazines via media and they are praised and put up on a pedestal. And I remember reading John Lennon's book years back that he wrote in his own words or his own right. He said that the bigger they got despite the enormous amount of money they donated to charity they were still expected double. John once said that the amount of pressure at the top you would think it levels off but it's always tearing you down. You know I want you to know that eternal life in heaven is heaven because there is no sin and there are no egos or rich people. It's all about obeying the God of creation. So you see the Beatles only lasted 10 years but as they were known to be Fab. They became extremely famous and a blueprint for other bands that came along.

Colossians 1:15

King James Version

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

"However, in this context, the term "firstborn" refers to supremacy, or priority. Jesus is the greatest over all creation. He is not a created being; He is the Creator."

You see when you get that famous you signed contracts with managers, record companies and other people. Many of them find out they lost their rights to their own songs. And there are great hurdles and Loops to overcome to reach that level of stardom/success. And once you get there a band like the Little River Band is interesting to me. You see the fame can go to your head. The "Celebrity Status" can destroy you even before you get off the ground. Not to mention that there is also manufacturing companies that have become famous. They have to have some stability and stamina. And when they all become big stars despite all of the adulation and all of the attention despite the contracts there is still this tension to pull them apart. Perhaps a good manager and a good producer helps. On the other hand when it comes to God Apostle Paul said to finish the good fight. We War not against flesh and blood. Ephesians 6:12 Who is the prince of this world?

A lot of times singers write about whatever is in their thoughts or they want to write about. It's interesting the songs that are memorable and people buy them in droves. When we can feel the human down to earth touch in a song it touches us. People look to Jesus for trust and love, security and blessings as well as salvation but they also engage in the world of sin . Music can be entertaining but God's word tells us that in the end days people will be lovers of entertainment and not lovers of the truth. What we sing has pre repercussions not just says what we speak because Jesus said that man will not live on bread and water alone but by "Every Idle Word" that comes forth from the mouth of God. Your tongue has the power of life and death.

Sometimes you talk to people and even employers who have a sparse image of their own employees. I've had this conversation with a woman boss once. She is a good leader but blinded by darkness. She just does not see or realize the shortcomings of even some long-term employees but she does not know their crippling sins is that seed that within them. And she mentioned success within her own. You see the wages of sin is death. People just can't accept that or they don't realize the reality that they live in. John 10:10 says it all that the evil one comes to rob steal and kill Christ is come that people have an abundance of life. He is come to call sinners to repentance.

So today sometimes I wondered what happened to this person or that person who starred in this movie or that movie. What happened to the members of bands that seemed to be very successful and then disappeared or were downplayed. What is success in God's eyes? If Jesus said that entering his kingdom is a straight gate and countless people are going to be rejected why are people so blind? Scripture tells us the God of this world has blinded the minds of many. Jesus said a man who puts his hand on the plow and looks back is not fit for the kingdom of God. God define success as somebody who is born again. John 3:3 Somebody that obeys him and loves him with all their heart mind and soul.  Jesus came to call sinners to repentance. He said repent and believe in the gospel. He told the prostitute go and sin no more. 5:44 a.m. January 5, 2022
