The biblical Prophets

Why did God send the prophets?

“God's purpose in sending His prophets unto men is twofold. The first is to liberate the children of humanity from the darkness of ignorance, and guide them to the light of true understanding. The second is to ensure the peace and tranquility of mankind, and provide all the means by which they can be established.” Jun 13, 2019

What does the Bible say about prophesying?

Joel 2:28-32

King James Version

28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.

32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

Are you a born again Christian? You know the Bible says to be studied and show yourselves approved.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Many of the great Prophets were a long time before Christ was born and they believed in him yet they never met him in person. Jesus once said many great Prophets in the sermon of the mount would have liked to see what you see. The people that were witnessing him in person we're seeing something incredible. Yet he had people that mocked him, even hated him with passion. You know the Bible says that at his appearing many will mourn and even those that put the piercing in his side will see him. So when should you study  the lives of some of the great Prophets that are even controversial because it's incredible and important. For example Jeremiah and all those years he spent of Prophecy to warn Israel to turn back and stop following strange gods. If God didn't love Israel which they broke the Covenant he wouldn't have sent all these prophets to warn them. So yes God is not absent. And so I had a good look at this today. And I thought I would put it here for others to go over these links. It's so easy to sin. It takes quite a commitment in faith to acknowledge your sinful nature and do something about it. In this case it's a whole nation that was exiled. Think about how many people died and suffered because they were exiled. They were under the law in their day and how graceful is God that we are not under the law today. But there are religions that teach you how to keep the law which are false and will damn your soul for all of eternity. Salvation is by grace through faith and not by works that no man shall boast. Nowhere in scripture does it tell us to pray to anyone else but God. You can follow lies and end up losing your own soul. Take an interest in learning because the Bible says God will reject those who reject knowledge.

In my studying and refresher course which is taking a look again at this they establish that Moses is the greatest Prophet that ever lived. Even Jesus was a prophet and nobody tops him. But of the prophets Jesus sent Moses which is extraordinary. And you should read about him.

"Moses is the most important Jewish prophet. He's traditionally credited with writing the Torah and with leading the Israelites out of Egypt and across the Red Sea. In the book of Exodus, he's born during a time when the Pharaoh of Egypt has ordered every male Hebrew to be drowned." Aug 5, 2014

Two people have covered prophets lately and I thought I would have it here as well.
